Happy anniversary!! 🎊🥳 I love your analysis about the importance of not reducing Black cinema to one thing (especially a capitalist kind of nostalgia). I feel very grateful to be here as I went to film school, and of course the film history they offered was white centric and reductive....You know the feeling of mourning something you’ve never had access to? ❤️‍🔥

<3 I do know the feeling... so, so, so richly. May we all find a path through film that speaks to our curiosity and makes our heart sing. Thank you for your generous words.

Happy Anniversary! I can’t believe it’s only been two years? This platform has become so essential to me. I’m so appreciative of you Maya and your work.

I cannot narrow down what has been my favorite film I’ve been turned on to from the Archive but I am hugely grateful for the recommendation to view the anthropological work of Zora Neale Hurston!
